Tanana Valley Sportsmen’s Association (TVSA) is a renowned sportsmen’s association in Interior Alaska. Founded in 1911, TVSA has been dedicated to promoting youth shooting activities, educating Alaska residents in the safe handling of firearms, and hosting competitive shooting events. Their sister foundation, Tanana Valley Sportsmen’s Foundation (TVSF), established in 2008, plays an instrumental role in supporting the youth shooting and educational programs of TVSA.

Facilities & Services

  • Open shooting sessions on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Members are charged $5/hr while non-members are charged $10/hr. Note: Only 22lr and non-magnum handguns are permitted.
  • Weekly Work Parties held on Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm. These offer a great chance for volunteers to help with different projects around the facility. No prior experience or tools are needed.
  • Monthly Meetings for members every second Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm at the Clubhouse.
  • Gun Shows, with the next one scheduled on October 14 & 15 at the TVSA Range and Clubhouse. Address: 1230 TVSA Way, Fairbanks (Located adjacent to the Best Western on the north side of Airport Way). Entry fees are $5 for adults, $4 for active military, and free for kids under 12.
  • Youth Shooting Programs such as the Midnight Sun Sharpshooters Junior Division (MSS) for youth aged 8-17, offering both classroom instruction and range time.

Membership Benefits Members of TVSA enjoy camaraderie with individuals passionate about wildlife conservation, hunting, fishing, trapping, shooting, and other Alaskan sports. They stay informed on current topics affecting these activities and benefit from reduced shooting range fees. TVSA is also affiliated with the Civilian Marksmanship Program and the National Rifle Association, providing additional benefits to members.
