Centrally nestled on the Kenai Peninsula, between Kenai and Soldotna, SnowShoe Gun Club is Alaska’s most expansive private shooting facility. Established in 1970, it spans over 423 acres and stands as one of the state’s oldest shooting facilities.

Facilities Offered:

  1. Rifle Range: A comprehensive 1000-yard range with berms every 100 yards, culminating at 800 and 1000 yards.
  2. Pistol Bays: Ten distinct pistol bays, varying in lengths from 25 to 100 yards.
  3. Clays Fields: Four concrete-walkway clays fields, numbered from South to North.
  4. Black Powder Range: A specialized 50 and 180-yard bay strictly for black powder enthusiasts.
  5. Tactical Range: A 300-yard bay designed for tactical black rifle shooters, including a stepped 150-yard section on the west side.

Operating Hours: 6am – 10pm. Before planning a visit, members are encouraged to check the Range Calendar and the Range Status.

Membership and Requirements:

  • The club welcomes all individuals eligible to legally own a firearm.
  • New members and renewals need to successfully complete a Range Safety Quiz before obtaining membership.

Firearm Training by Cold Frontier: Exclusive firearms training for club members, helmed by seasoned instructors with backgrounds in law enforcement, military, and security.

Events and Reservations:

  • SnowShoe Gun Club hosts both competitive and public shooting events.
  • Events can be browsed on the SGC Events Calendar. The Range Reservation list has now been integrated into the Calendar Agenda.
  • While Family Memberships cannot make range reservations, Agency and Corporate Members must do so 30 days in advance.
  • Special provisions for non-profit organizations, educational institutes, and youth programs to reserve ranges without a fee. Other for-profit entities are subject to a reservation fee.
