Located near Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Mountain Valley Sportsman’s Association (MVSA) stands as a prominent private club dedicated to the shooting sports. Its commitment extends to offering a safe, top-notch facility for all shooting enthusiasts.

Facilities & Offerings:

  1. MVSA Action Shooting Range: This range encompasses a 10-bay facility featuring an air-conditioned building, pavilion, and modern restrooms. It also boasts a large covered bay, electricity at alternative bays, and covered staging areas equipped with target stands and sticks. It’s primarily used for competitions and training. MVSA also offers a section of the range immersed in wooded shooting areas with targets ranging from 100 to 400 yards.
  2. Training Courses: Scheduled training sessions include handgun and rifle marksmanship courses, Project Appleseed classes, defensive handgun classes, and Concealed Handgun Carry License (CHCL) courses.
  3. MVSA Trap & Skeet Shooting: MVSA offers two illuminated Trap and Skeet ranges adhering to the regulations of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA). Trap and Skeet fields are open on selected days for both members and non-members.
  4. Youth Trapshooting Programs: MVSA is proud to be the practice ground for youth trapshooting squads including Garland County Gunners 4H program, National Park College trap team, MVSA Silver Birds AYSSP trap team, and the Magnet Cove AYSSP trap team.
  5. Achievements: A notable mention is the MVSA Eagles youth trapshooting squad that recently placed third in the AYSSP South Region tournament.

Membership & Renewals: For those keen on joining, memberships run from January 1 to December 31. There’s an online application process which includes fees such as a one-time initiation fee, annual dues, and a gate key card fee. Notably, NRA membership is a prerequisite for all MVSA members. Renewals have a specific timeline and late renewals incur additional charges.
