Established in 1934, Richmond Rod & Gun Club (RRGC) boasts nearly 90 years as one of Richmond, California’s premier sporting venues. Operating as a 501(c)7 corporation, the club is a dedicated space for firearms and fishing enthusiasts. With a long-standing reputation and over 4,000 members, the club hosts several programs recognized as the largest on the west coast and frequently welcomes competitors from all over the country for regional and national events.

Facilities & Ranges:

  1. General:
    • Membership-based club but offers select events and training to the public.
    • Open every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM for members and their guests.
  2. Pistol and Rifle Range:
    • Available for regular members from 9 AM – 10 AM and for associate members from 10 AM – 11 AM.
    • Features 18 lanes for pistols and 22LR firearms, 2 shotgun lanes, 7 yard lanes, and variable lanes at 15 and 25 yards.
    • 100-yard line split into 50-yard and 100-yard distances with 12 positions for centerfire rifles.
    • 200-yard line primarily for competitions but open occasionally for advanced shooters.
    • Fee: $5/hour for members.
  3. Action Range:
    • Open on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 1 PM for pre-qualified competitors.
    • Requires completion of the RRGC Safe Handgun Competitor Class or a recognized classification rating.
    • Fee: $7 for members (credit card only).
  4. Skeet Range:
    • Open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM.
    • Features 4 skeet fields and 1 trap field.
    • Fees: $7 per 25-target round for members and $10 for guests.
    • Note: Only non-toxic ammunition (no lead) allowed.
  5. Other Facilities:
    • A clubhouse equipped with a kitchen, primarily open for Regular Members and their guests.
    • A fishing point, renowned for its scenic view of the bay with the Marin County shoreline visible in the distance.
    • Regular member benefits include clubhouse access, voting rights, and discounts on lane rentals.
