With a rich history and an active membership exceeding 200 passionate shooters, the JGC, managed as a non-profit, offers a unique blend of recreational opportunities.
Facilities:
- Shooting Houses: Four voice-activated trap houses.
- Clubhouse: Recently renovated for your comfort.
- Shopping: Purchase shells, reloading supplies, and JGC merchandise including caps, patches, and shooting accessories.
Programs & Events: Participate in monthly ATA and PITA competitions. Their popular winter league sees over 130 shooters competing at night amidst the glimmer of bright lights reflecting off snow-covered traps. Make sure to check their calendar tab for shoot dates!
Visitor Experience: Whether a seasoned shooter or a newbie, the JGC promises a warm welcome. Friendly members are always eager to guide newcomers. They host public hours on Sundays (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) and Wednesdays (6:00 pm – 9:00 pm) at their location on Montana Creek Road.
Pricing: Shooters have the option of purchasing individual shooting cards or a “punch card”. Note, ammunition is separate from the shooting round fees, but is available for purchase at the club. Safety first! Mandatory ear and eye protection is available, and for beginners, they offer a limited number of 12 & 20 gauge “loaner” shotguns.
Memberships: JGC offers a variety of memberships:
- Primary membership at $75/year.
- Additional family member at $35.
- Associate membership (for those outside Juneau) at $35.
- Youth and students get a special rate of $40 (ID required). Membership runs from October 1st to September 30th, with prorated options available.
Safety Rules: Safety is paramount at JGC. Adhering to guidelines like mandatory ear and eye protection, ensuring guns are pointed in safe directions, not pointing guns towards the trap house when signaled, and no shooting post alcohol consumption (Alcohol is strictly prohibited on premises) ensures everyone’s safety.
