Sacramento Valley Shooting Center (SVSC), operated by Folsom Shooting Club INC, stands out as the premier outdoor shooting range on the West Coast. With its reputation being the largest and best privately held range West of the Mississippi, SVSC has garnered the NRA Gold Medal Range status for three consecutive years as of 2012, highlighting its dedication to excellent range services and firm support for the Second Amendment rights.

Facilities and Ranges

  • SVSC spans a vast 860+ acre area with over 400 firing positions.
  • The facility offers a variety of ranges, including shotgun, handgun, and rifle ranges.
  • World-class shooters frequently choose SVSC for practice, and the center hosts regional, national, and international events annually.
  • SVSC provides both private member-only ranges and public-access ranges.
  • Public access is granted to the 100 and 300-yard rifle ranges, the 50-yard pistol, and the .22 rimfire steel silhouette range.

Membership Information

  • There are two primary membership classes: Non-Voting Member and Voting Member. One must start as a Non-Voting Member before being eligible for Voting Membership.
  • Family members can obtain associate and/or junior memberships at no extra cost.
  • Voting members enjoy access to all 12 FSC ranges (post-orientation), can vote on FSC matters, and avail additional benefits.
  • Non-Voting members can use public ranges but require a Voting Member’s company for competition ranges or public match participation.

Range Details

Public Ranges:

  • 1: Shotgun (4 Trap, 2 Skeet, 5 Stand Sporting Clays)
  • 3: Rifle – 300 yard (11 shaded positions)
  • 4: Rifle – 100 yard (52 covered positions)
  • Pistol Range: 50-yard (24 covered positions)
  • Rimfire: Reactive targets (8 covered positions)

Member Ranges: Ranges from A to 12 include facilities such as Archery Range, Action Pistol bays, NRA bays, Silhouette ranges of varying distances, Benchrest Range, and the 1000 Yard Range.

Fee Schedule and Policies

Fees vary based on membership type and the chosen range. Special discounts apply for active military personnel, those under 18, and senior citizens. Some fees contribute to steel replacement and maintenance. Voting Members have opportunities for fee reductions through Range Improvement Projects, with certain conditions.

General Notes

  • Ammunition sales have been discontinued.
  • The facility does not rent guns.
  • New shooters’ acceptance to certain ranges is limited post 3:30pm, and 3:00pm for Range 1.

Archery at SVSC

SVSC proudly introduced archery at their range, located west of the Main Range Office. The range offers 8 shooting lanes with varying distances, catering to compound and crossbow enthusiasts. Initially, only Voting and Non-Voting Members and their guests will have access, with members being allowed a maximum of 4 guests.
