Lake Havasu City Sportsman Club Description

Nestled in the scenic surroundings of Lake Havasu City, the Lake Havasu City Sportsman Club has been a pillar for shooting sports enthusiasts since its establishment in 1971.

Facilities and Offerings:

  • Rifle Range: Featuring unmanaged rifle bays at 50yd, 100yd, 200yd, and 300yd.
  • Pistol Range: Five individual ranges allowing setup of multiple targets, ideal for practicing real-life scenarios.
  • Shotgun Range: A specialized facility offering trap, skeet & 5-Stand shotgun shooting.
  • Archery Range: A dedicated space for archery enthusiasts. Note: Firearms are prohibited in this area, and the use of broadheads is discouraged.

Members enjoy access from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week, on a first-come, first-serve basis, with some exceptions during match events. The public is invited to experience the range on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays during seasonal hours:

  • Winter: (Oct 1 – Apr 30) – 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
  • Summer: (May 1 – Sep 30) – 7:00 am to 11:00 am.

For those keen on memberships, the process involves an in-person application to ensure clear understanding of the range’s safety rules, bylaws, and gate operations. Membership covers the member’s spouse and children under 18. There’s a one-time fee of $75.00 per year or an option for a lifetime membership at $750.00.

Reviewers have lauded the club for its well-maintained facilities and amiable staff. Many appreciate the vast offerings, from pistol bays to the archery range. However, some newcomers were unaware that the range isn’t open to the public every day and faced challenges during their visits. While it’s clear that the majority have had pleasant experiences, newcomers are advised to familiarize themselves with the club’s hours and policies before their visit.

Additional Information:

  • The club operates under a long-term Use Agreement with Lake Havasu City.
  • Governed by an elected Board of Directors, the club holds regular meetings on the first Tuesday of the month.
  • It relies entirely on membership support, receiving no state, county, or city funds.
  • Located within the SARA Park complex, the entrance is off AZ Hwy. 95 between mile posts 175 & 176.
