Tucked away in the scenic setting of the Conecuh National Forest in Escambia County, Alabama, the Conecuh National Forest Shooting Range offers a tranquil environment for shooting enthusiasts. With distances up to 100 yards, shooters can hone their skills effectively.

  • Monday to Thursday: 9 am – 5 pm

Getting There:

  • GPS: 31.0674° N, 86.7963° W
  • Directions from Andalusia, AL: Head west on Alabama Hwy. 29 for 20 miles till County Road 11. Turn left and proceed for 6 miles to County Road 4. A right turn here and the range is just 1/2 mile on the left.
  • Directions from Brewton, AL: Take Alabama Hwy. 29 North to County Road 4. Turn right and journey 11 miles to find the range on your right.

Management: Operated jointly by the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries and the U.S. Forest Service.

License Requirements:

  • Alabama residents (age 16-64): A valid hunting, heritage, fishing, or WMA license.
  • Nonresidents (age 16 and above): A valid WMA or non-resident hunting license. Licenses can be obtained online, by phone at 1-888-848-6887, or from a local retail vendor.

Safety and Range Regulations:

  • No alcohol on premises.
  • Use of legal firearms and ammunition only; armor-piercing or tracer rounds prohibited.
  • Strict safety protocols to be followed when handling firearms and during shooting.
  • Shotguns may be used in designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness; dispose of used items appropriately.
  • Adherence to all posted restrictions is mandatory.
